The Wounded Warrior Project came to Holiday Valley today. The Lounsbury program hosted 19 warriors including 4 female veterans. They came from as far away as Binghamton and Penn Yan New York. We even had a local gentleman from Gowanda. They were veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Some of their disabilities were Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and Traumatic Brain Injury.
They were brought here through Danny Rodriguez the Wounded Warrior Outreach coordinator. There were 12 Lounsbury instructors on had to give lessons or serve as guides around our mountain. We enjoyed a breakfast of donuts and muffins and a pizza lunch. It was a great day and we look forward to our regular veterans day on March 4th.
