Meeting for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Ellicottville Memorial Library, the “Wonderous Woman Writers & Illustrators Group,” facilitated by published author Kate Benatovich, got to know each other and share journalistic styles.

“Sharing stories build vital human connections that sustain us,” said Benatovich.

By bringing writing projects to the group, sharing ideas, stories, drawings and illustrations, sharing publishing resources, learning new skills and adventuring in this wonderland, Benatovich said the group members can finish writing projects and books.

“Through the collaboration of working together in a safe and compassionate environent we can achieve many writing adventures,” she said.

The theme for the first meeting was “different journaling styles.”

Future topics for discussion will include “Power of Poetry,” “Making a Children’s Book,” “Teen Fiction,” “Self Publishing vs. Getting an Agent,” “Book Binding” and “Starting a Magazine.”
