In game two of regular season play, Chad Bartoszek and the Franklinville-Ellicottville Titans defeated the Cattaraugus-Little Valley Timberwolves in a 55-0 triumph to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Junior running back Griffin Chudy recorded three touchdowns (22-yard reception, runs of 54 and two yards), and received the Character Athlete of the game award to lead the Titans to victory.
Other scoring came from senior Austin Whitmer (31- and 4-yard runs). Junior quarterback Brock Blecha was a perfect 5-for 5 passing for 137 yards with TD tosses to Chudy and junior Deric Leiper (29 yards) while throwing for a pair of 2-point conversions (Chudy and junior tight end Sam Erickson) and kicking another.
“It was great game and a good team effort. We were utilizing a number of different players who all contributed, and everyone got to play quite a bit. We look forward to a big game against the Frewsburg Bears on Friday night at Frewsburg. Frewsburg is a team that has had a lot of success the last several years and will present a huge challenge for us,” said head coach Bartoszek.
The latest victory lends itself to the Titans becoming a certain favorite to repeat the Section 6 Class D title.
The Junior Varsity Titans also defeated the Timberwolves in a Monday night 14-0 victory.
