ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. — By all accounts, the 29th Annual Taste of Ellicottville, presented by Sysco, was a great success! The 18 establishments represented are reporting a Saturday attendance that rivaled full weekends in the past, and a Sunday that was not too far behind.
With it all said and done, one area restaurant rose to the top, in the minds of the best critics in the world, our visitors. Katy’s Café was named Best in Show. The dish that set them apart, in the mind of the public, was the Blue Mushroom Soup.
Taking home the Best Dessert was The Birdwalk’s Cobbler, in blueberry or peach. Best drink was Holiday Valley’s Wild Berry Arnold Palmer.
“This was our biggest year, ever,” Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brian McFadden said. “It’s always nice to see the streets packed with so many people enjoying what Ellicottville has to offer. Not just our restaurants, but our retail shops enjoyed a great turnout for the Taste of Ellicottville, and area lodging had a very strong weekend as well.”
Plans for next year’s event have already started. The 30th anniversary edition of the Taste of Ellicottville will be held Aug. 15 and 16, 2015.
