Here is a synopsis, in case you’ve never heard of this production.
Six 12-year-old children are vying for the Putnam County Spelling Bee Championship. While candidly revealing hilarious and touching stories from their personal life the kids spell their way through a series of words hoping never to hear the ‘ding’ that signals their defeat. In the end, they learn just because you didn’t win doesn’t mean you’re a loser. The show requires four women and five men. All characters are played by adults, who include six “kids,” one female moderator, one male vice-principal, and one male ex-convict comfort counselor. One male role is a non-singing part.
Performances take place Nov. 13, 14, 15 and 16, and Nov. 21, 22 and 23. No matter if you spell it theater or theatre, this show is sure to be a hit!
