Sales, Service and Installation Satisfy Building and Remodeling Needs
By Daniel Meyer
Having served Western New York since 1986, Springville Door & Window operates under the philosophy of offering high quality products designed to make homes and businesses both eye appealing and energy efficient.
Owned and operated by David Batterson, Springville Door & Window is located at 56 Waverly St. in the village of Springville. Established by Batterson and Jim Webster, the general contracting business opened on April 1, 1986, but has proven to a serious contender with nearly 30 year of selling and installing a wide variety of home improvement products.
While offering all types of contracting services, the focus during the early days of the business was on doors and windows. Webster eventually decided to go in a different direction and opened his own business, with Batterson buying Webster out and preparing for a drastic overhaul of the company. The new mindset was having in-stock, topnotch products that are on the cutting edge, giving customers various options as they select new products to breathe new life into their home or business.
“We are a company based on quality,” said Batterson. “With the length of time we’ve been in business, it says a lot about us because our philosophy has never changed. Our designs and concepts are done with the homeowner in mind. They want something that looks beautiful and can provide energy savings, so we do whatever we need to do to please each and every one of them.”
Batterson did make some adjustments over the years, becoming quite aggressive in pursuing the remodeling sector of the industry. In addition to sales, service and installation of all types of doors and windows, they also do work related to garage doors, decking and railing, home and attic installation, vinyl siding, countertops and much more.
“We survived because of our strong work ethic and our reputation of selling high quality products,” said Batterson. “I refuse to sell any products that are cheap and poor quality. It makes no sense, because you end up with disappointed customers who obviously would not return or give you a positive recommendation.”
Batterson said being based in Springville is the ideal location for his business based on his approach to his work and the type of community Springville is.
“Springville is great and has served us well,” said Batterson. “It’s a small village atmosphere and we love that. Everyone here looks out for each other. Many of our customers admire the reputation we have in this community and throughout Western New York.”
Working with a staff of approximately 12 employees, Batterson stresses the importance of assisting customers with free in-home estimates on any type of service or installation work. Their showroom displays all types of products that allow customers to casually browse what is available for any kind of home remodeling project.
“Our showroom is set up to be a place that has a lot of before-and-after projects so people get a real good look and clear visual on what type of work we can do for them,” said Batterson.
