9-13-13PUMPKINVILLE-2013GREAT VALLEY, NY – Pumpkinville isn’t only a place for fun, food and excitement. They are committed to helping their community in any way they can.

That’s why they’ve designated this weekend, September 21-22, as Pink Pumpkin Weekend. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of pink pumpkins will be donated to the Pink Pumpkin Foundation, which provides grants for breast cancer research.

Last year Pumpkinville donated more than $3,000 to breast cancer research.

“Fighting breast cancer is a very personal cause for us,” said Dan Pawlowski, who owns Pumpkinville with his wife Diane. “We’ll do whatever we can to help.”

The pink pumpkins being sold aren’t painted; they are specially developed pink pumpkins. “We planted about three acres of them and I think, it’s one of the coolest colors of pumpkins that we grow,” Mr. Pawlowski said.
