Pastor Kay is beloved by his congregation, which has gathered from around Western New York, as well as skiers, summer campers, snow birds and year round tourists.
“My ministry with the people of St. Paul’s and Trinity has been exciting as we come to know that we truly minister to one another, but also know our call to be servants in and to our communities. That is a true sense of what a parish is,” said Pastor Kay.
Pastor Kay was born in Oil City, PA. He attended Lutheran Colleges at Ann Arbor, Michigan and Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the seminary in St. Louis, MO before being ordained on August 1, 1976 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Silver Creek.
Pastor Kay, served congregations in Newfane, NY, Massena, NY, and Potsdam, NY, before receiving the mutual call to serve St. Paul’s and Trinity Lutheran Churches in November 1987.
Pastor’s wife Linda is also retiring from the West Valley School System. They will be moving to the Rochester, New York area after the first of the year. They will be sorely missed by the congregation and the community as a whole.
