The Cattaraugus County Arts Council (CCAC) is sponsoring two one-day workshops on business strategies geared toward artists’ specific needs.

Presented by Arts Business Institute, the organization partners with art nonprofits, business development centers and art education organizations across the nation to provide specialized technical assistance and business education for studio artists, craft professionals and creative entrepreneurs.

Topics to be covered include creative marketing, calculating expenses and setting pricing, effective websites, and developing different niche markets. Saturday, April 18, the workshop will be held at Jamestown Community College (JCC), 260 Main Street, Olean. Sunday, April 19, the same workshop will be held at the JCC Jamestown Campus, 525 Falconer Street.

The day begins at 9 a.m. with lunch provided at noon, and the ends at 3:30 p.m. Tuition is $65 per person with the option of purchasing a 20 minute individual consultation at the end of the day for an additional $30. The number of consultation appointments is extremely limited and must be pre-scheduled at the time of registration. The consultation fee is over and above the workshop tuition cost.

Speakers are Wendy Rosen, the founder of the American Made Show, The Arts Business Institute, and the American Made Alliance, as well as being the publisher of NICHE Magazine, and Carolyn Edlund, the Executive Director of the Arts Business Institute and a successful production artist.
