On Friday, Nov. 28, Olean officially kicks off the holiday season with its annual Santa Claus Lane Parade.
Officials from Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce (GOACC) have registered more than 30 units for the upcoming parade,a in which Santa Claus lights thousands of lights in downtown Olean.

Pam Caldwell, GOACC’s official lights coordinator, stated, “We are fortunate that Santa will make his stop once again this year to the City of Olean and take part in the Santa Claus Lane Parade on Friday Nov. 28. Our gratitude and appreciation also go to the City of Olean and Time Warner employees who have dedicated time and effort over the past 29 years to assist us in bringing joy and happiness to our residents and, more importantly, to our children.”
Paul Brown Motors and Toys 4 Tots will be teaming up again this year to collect as many toys as possible. Last year’s Toys 4 Tots campaign helped over 2,000 children in the immediate area.
