Get ready for a weekend full of mud, water, full body workouts and LOL-ing! June 18 brings the Mudslide and Paddlefest to Ellicottville, and you’ll want to be there.
Holiday Valley’s annual Mudslide race challenges competitors to navigate 11 wet and wild obstacles, ending with the mudslide into a giant mud pit at the bottom of the Yodeler slope. Runners choose from 3.5 or 5.4 mile courses, both starting from Spruce Lake after a relaxing ride up on the chairlift. A kids’ race, a vendor village, an awesome after-party and plenty of prizes and awards to go around make this one of the can’t-miss events of the season.

After the Mudslide, head over to Paddlefest from 4 to 8 p.m. Paddlefest, presented by Adventure Bound OnTheFly, takes place at the demo pond behind Tim Horton’s on Route 219. You’ll be able to try out a full selection of inflatable and hard stand-up paddle boards (SUPs) and kayaks.
In addition, and thanks to its new partnership with Orvis, Adventure Bound will be offering Tenkara (a Japanese style of fresh-water fishing that uses ultra long, flexible, light-weight rods) clinics.
Grab a bite and a brew from Dina’s food truck and EBC, and check out live music by Sister Molly and Brother John from 6-8 p.m.
There will also be fun events for kids, including kids paddling on SUPs and kayaks, as well as a kids race.
Enjoy the longest days of the year with a day (and night!) of fun in the sun! Don’t miss these two great events that showcase what Ellicottville is all about this time of year!
