Last week, U14s joined the U12/U10/U8 athletes for one of the most exciting events of the season— Kissing Bridge’s Dual Slalom. After the race is over the fun part begins: the shootout. The top eight U14 and U12 men and women compete for an array of prizes with the winners receiving a new pair of skis courtesy of Mud, Sweat and Gears.

Both Erik Shattenberg (HV) and Mary Catherine Mangan (HO) pushed from second position in the actual race to become U12 King and Queen. On the U14 side, Holiday Valley’s Alexander Wojnowski was King of the Hill. For the race portion. HoliMont’s Madalyn Cummings walked away with the U12 gold medal ,and her sisters, Olivia and Isabella, took gold for the U10 and U8 divisions respectively; a Cummings sweep!

U14 Women (birth year 2003 and 2004): HoliMont’s Nyah Solly finished in 4th place with Holiday Valley’s Rory Sauereisen in 5th and Isabella Scott (HV) 7th.

U14 Men (birth year 2003 and 2004): Alexander Wojnowski (HV) not only was King of the Hill, but took home the gold as well. Reichen Morrisey also of Holiday Valley hit the podium in 3rd place. Mitchell Azcarate (HV) finished 4th, Ryan Scanlon (HV) 5th, William Dunn (HV) 8th, Nicholas Koerber (HV) 9th, Dylan Potter (HV) 10th and Isiah Davies (HV) 11th.

U12 Women (birth year 2005 and 2006): Madalyn Cummings (HO) came in 1st, followed by teammate Mary Catherine Mangan in 2nd and Leah Smillie of Holiday Valley, who rounded out the podium. Francesca Ferrara (HO) took 4th, Claire Rintoul (HO) 5th, Charlotte Harter (HV) 7th, Charlotte Branscome (HO) 8th and Carissa Dunlap (HO) 9th. Katie Hutchings of Holiday valley placed 11th, Kaitlyn Turnbull (HO) 12th, Reese Latta (HV) 14th, Emmylu Carls (HO) 15th and Maxine Palmerton (HV) 16th.

U12 Men (birth year 2005 and 2006): HoliMont’s Cameron Johnson took gold, followed by Erik Shattenberg of Holiday Valley for silver and Dougie Basadur of HoliMont finished with the bronze. Harry Scanlon (HV) finished 4th, Liam Ainslie (HO) 6th, Maxwell Burget (HO) 7th, Blake Preston (HO) 8th, Buck Rathburn (HO) 9th and Carson Corey (HV) 10th. Aaron Gyorgy of HoliMont placed 11th with teammates Andrew Williams, Hans Solly and Beaudin Napolitano in 12th, 13th and 14th respectively. Owen Griffith (HV) finished in 15th.

U10 Women (birth year 2007 and 2008): Olivia Cummings (HO) took 1st, Sophia Goldberg (HV) 2nd and Mia Kerl (HO) 3rd. Jane Rathbun of HoliMont finished in 4th with teammates Georgia Priestman, Georgia Hewson and Eniko Knezic taking 5th, 7th and 8th respectively. Hannah Goldberg of Holiday Valley finished 9th, Grace Privitera (HV) 10th and Elizabeth Scott (HV) 11th.

U10 Men (birth year 2007 and 2008): HoliMont’s Gavin Weinstein walked away with the gold medal followed by JR Palmerton (HV) in 2nd and Liam Hamel (HO) in 3rd. Henry Black of Holiday Valley finished 4th, Cody Preston (HO) 5th, Holden Bozek (HO) 6th, Ethan Peters (HO) 7th, Coleman Carls (HO) 8th and Everett Hamel (HO) 9th. Avery Platt of HoliMont placed 11th, Jasper Tullet (HO) 12th, Christian Liskowsky (HO) 14th and Shay Malone (HO) 15th.

U8 Women (birth year 2009 and younger): Isabella Cummings (HO) finished 1st and a remarkable 19th overall! Ruby Burget and Presley Napolitano also of HoliMont rounded out the podium in 2nd and 3rd.

U8 Men (birth year 2009 and younger): Hudson Marshall of Holiday Valley took the gold.HoliMont’s Harrison Bozek of HoliMont finished 2nd, Michael McCulloch (HO) 3rd, Jude Lisowsky (HO) 4th and Gabriel Davies (HV) 5th.

The next day only the U12/U10/U8 athletes headed to Buffalo Ski Club for their last race of the regular season, a Kombi, which is a blend of Giant Slalom and Slalom.

U12 Men: Erik Shattenberg of Holiday Valley finished on top, with teammate Carson Corey having his best result of the season with the silver medal! HoliMont’s Blake Preston finished 3rd, Harry Scanlon (HV) 4th, Maxwell Burget (HO) 5th, Liam Ainslie (HO) 6th, Aaron Gyorgy (HO) 7th, Cameron Johnson (HO) 8th, Beaudin Napolitano (HO) 9th, Buck Rathburn (HO) 10th, John Black of Holiday Valley finished 16th and Johnathon Scarrow (HO) 17th.

U12 Women: Mary Catherine Mangan of HoliMont walked away with the gold with teammate Claire Rintoul in 3rd. Zoe Hallett (HO) finished 4th, Charlotte Branscome (HO) 5th, Charlotte Harter (HV) 6th, Leah Smillie (HV) 7th, Emmylu Carls (HO) 8th, Reese Latta (HV) 9th and Maxine Palmerton (HV) 10th. Lilah Pecora (HO) placed 12th and teammate Kaitlyn Turnbull finished 13th.

U10 Men: Gavin Weinstein of HoliMont swept the weekend with another gold medal. Liam Hamel (HO) took silver and JR Palmerton (HO) finished 3rd. Holden Bozek (HO) came in 4th, Cody Preston (HO) 5th, Henry Black 6th, Coleman Carls (HO) 7th, Avery Platt (HO) 10th and Christian Lisowsky (HO) 11th.

U10 Women: Olivia Cummings also had another sweep of the U10 division taking to top spot once again.Mia Kerl and Jane Rathburn of HoliMont finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Molly DeRose (HV) finished 4th, Sophia Goldberg (HV) 5th, Eniko Knezic (HO) 6th and Hannah Goldberg (HV) 7th.

U8 Men: Hudson Marshall of Holiday Valley took the gold again and Michael McCulloch of HoliMont finished 2nd.

The U21/U19/U16 athletes traveled to iconic Lake Placid, competing at Whiteface for the annual Winter Empire State Games. In this mini Olympic type setting the kids get to experience an opening ceremony along with the ability to meet other winter sport athletes.

Day One Women (Super-G No. 1): Candice Kasahara of Holiday Valley finished in 13th with teammate Paige Duffy directly behind her in 14th. Logan Fredrickson (HV) took 16th, Katherine Wojnowski (HV) 18th, Chloe Richards (HO) 21st, Kate Masliwec (HO) 27th and Lauren Thomas (HV) 29th. Hayly Fredrickson (HV) placed 31st and Phoebe Dunn (HV) finished 47th.

Day One Men (Super-G No. 2): Nathan Briselden of Holiday Valley took 5th, Carlo Muscarella (HO) 19th and Sean Nolan (HV) 23rd, Alec Nolan (HV) 24th, Nicholas Scott (HO) 25th, Nolan Evans (HV) 27th and Christian Taylor (HV) finished 44th.

Day One Women (Super-G No. 2): Katherine Wojnowski of Holiday Valley improved on her first race finishing 9th with teammateCandice Kasahara in 10th. Paige Duffy (HV) finished 12th, Katrina Surdyka (HV) 13th, Zoe Knauss (HO) 17th and Logan Fredrickson (HV) 19th. Lauren Thomas (HV) placed 21st, Chloe Richards (HO) 30th, Hayly Fredrickson (HV) 34th, Sierra Cappelli (HV) 42nd, Phoebe Dunn (HV) 45th and Kate Masliwec (HO) 51st.

Day One Men (Super-G No. 2): Nathan Briselden finished with another strong top ten in 8th with Nicholas Scott (HO) in 16th. Carlo Muscarella (HO) took 21st, Jes Saeureisen (HV) 27th, Alec Nolan (HV) 35th, Nolan Evans (HV) 37th and Sean Nolan (HV) 39th. Christian Taylor (HV) placed 45th, Lucas Johnson (HO) 48th and Dalton Potter (HV) 63rd.

Day Two Women (Giant Slalom): Lauren Thomas of Holiday Valley finished 10th with teammate Paige Duffy directly behind her in 11th. Candice Kasahard and Katherine Wojnowski of Holiday Valley finished 14th and 15th respectively. Chloe Richards (HO) took 16th, Taylor Hubert (HV) 18th, Hayly Fredrickson (HV) 23rd, Sierra Cappelli (HV) 33rd and Phoebe Dunn (HV) 51st.

Day Two Men (Giant Slalom): Holiday Valley’s Nathan Briselden put himself on the podium taking the bronze medal! HoliMont’s Carlo Muscarella finished in 7th, Nolan Evans (HV) 9th and Alec Nolan (HV) in 12th. Lucas Johnson (HO) took 20th and Sean Nolan (HV) placed 28th.

Day Three Women (Slalom): Logan Fredrickson of Holiday Valley had an amazing day finishing in 4th place. HoliMont’s Chloe Richards finished in 6th, Paige Duffy (HV) 7th, Candice Kasahara (HV) 9th and Hayly Fredrickson (HV) 11th. Sierra Cappelli (HV) took 24th, Zoe Knauss (HO) 33rd and Phoebe Dunn (HV) 40th.

Day Three Men (Slalom): Dalton Potter of Holiday Valley put a race together after a long weekend finishing 11th. Christian Taylor (HV) took 16th and Nolan Evans (HV) finished 33rd.
