As you walk down Washington Street in the Village this week, you’ll quickly notice something a bit different at Madigan’s. The building, which is over 100 years old, has had a facelift.

After much discussion, owners Kevin and Grace Kell, along with their sons and business partners Connor and Shane, decided it was time for an update. The front of the building was torn apart for much of last week as new windows were put in.

“It changes the entire atmosphere of the dance floor,” says Grace Kell. “There is so much more natural light coming in and you have a view of the village now.”

The construction was performed by Apex Construction, owned and operated by Joshua Zolner. “We were so happy when the Kells called us about this new project. After putting on the new deck extension a couple of summers ago, we were eager to dive into this project.”

Along with the window update, the dance floor received a much needed reconfiguration.  Now there are two places to enter, along with new railings.

“With the extra barn-board from the demo, we were able to wrap the DJ booth and surround the front door with barn-board giving it the rustic feel we all associate with Madigan’s,” Connor Kell said. “I think it will bring a lot more customers through the door, because now they will be able to see us from the street, especially in the summer months when we are mainly open upstairs only.” And, he adds, “We hope everyone stops in for a drink to check out the new views of the village. We love this town, the community and all of our visitors.”

Madigan’s, also known as the “Green Bar,” is open daily until 2 a.m.  Lunch is served Tuesday – Friday from 11 a.m. – 2 pm.  Dinner is served on Friday and Saturday night. Check out the Green Bar where there are always good tunes, good times and good friends!
