HV-GateLocal Discounts with Swagger Card

Support Holiday Valley’s Race Team and Save Big

By Alicia Dziak

Now is the time to support the Holiday Valley’s race team by purchasing a Swagger Card — a discount card with great offers from many local merchants!

The Swagger Card is a custom discount card that you build yourself by picking 12 deals to your favorite places for food, shopping and entertainment.

With your card, you get unlimited use of the discounts you choose for one full year. The card will pay for itself in very little time!

The $25 card gets you discounts at local eateries such as McCarty Cafe at Holiday Valley, Katy’s Cafe, The Barn, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Coffee Culture, Dina’s, Burger King, Madigan’s, Bike and Bean, Kabob Kafe, Tips Up Café, The Ellicottville Depot, and Hoagies Subs, Pizza and Grill.

Those looking for adventure can choose the deals for the Mountain Coaster and Sky High at Holiday Valley as two of their 12 selections. In need of retail therapy? You can choose discounts at Aardvark, A Touch of Ellicottville, Alexandra, Cameleon, Daff, Dekdebruns Ski Shop, Flurry, Holiday Shoppe, Kazoo II, Mud Sweat N’ Gears, Tangled Twigs, Red Door Ski and Snowboard, and the Village Wine Rack. In addition, who couldn’t use discounted services at Jonny Barber, another great option for the card?

To get your card, go to www.swaggercard.com/HVSkiTeam, a specific link that gives the credit to the team. Select “build a card” and enter zip code “14731.”

The various merchant offers will appear under the different tabs of food and dining, entertainment, retail stores and services, and the purchaser can then select the 12 offers they want to use for the next year. After mailing and payment information is filled out, the card is sent to the purchaser in 7–10 days.

The purchaser can also go to the website and select an individual on the team to give them the credit by entering the racer’s name on the home page of www.swaggercard.com.

In addition to purchasing the card online, voucher cards are available from the racers. The only difference in purchasing the cards this way is that when the purchaser goes online to select the merchants for their card, the voucher card number is entered on the payment line at checkout since the purchaser has already paid the racer. If buying your cards from a racer, payment can be made either by check or by credit card, if special arrangements are made.

Swagger Cards are good for one year from purchase, so while most cards are being purchased now and will expire next February, if someone doesn’t get around to loading their purchased card for a few months, it will still be good for a year from whenever the card is created by the purchaser.

The Swagger Card is a great way to support the Holiday Valley race team while also supporting some fabulous local businesses. Funds raised will go toward reimbursement of coaches’ travel expenses at away races and various equipment the team needs such as drills, video cameras and gates.

Don’t delay in taking advantage of this opportunity to save big — the fundraiser wraps up at the end of the month. Racers will be turning in the unsold vouchers in the next week, and online purchases are available through the end of February.
