An exceptional collection of paintings is now on exhibit at the Ellicottville Memorial Library. Leigh Ann Cledgett is an illustrator from Hinsdale, N.Y., recently graduated from college and already making her mark as a book illustrator.

The exhibition at the library is explained by Ms Cledgett, “This body of work is the product of summer spent learning from my Grandma. While we shared a meal, she shared her story. I believe Grandma’s story to be an inspiring one of taking risks and overcoming obstacles. There is a common theme that echoes through Grandma’s life: never, ever give up. These 10 paintings illustrate some of the pivotal moments in Grandma’s life, when decisions were tough and obstacles were high. But at 82 years of age, Grandma’s life says it was worth it. I trust these stories will convince the viewer that the risks in their own lives are worth it as well.”

The Ellicottville Memorial Library is located at 6499 Maples Rd. in Ellicottville, N.Y. Hours are 10 a.m.–5 p.m. daily except Sunday. Evening hours are 5–8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
