Holiday Valley recently donated an automatic awning to enhance the patio at the Rotary Auditorium and Nannen Arboretum event venue.

This 20-foot-by-40-foot awning will provide a perfect transition from the auditorium patio to the arboretum.

The town of Ellicottville purchased this building from the Cornell Co-operative Extension and worked with the Rotary Club of Ellicottville to renovate the auditorium and patio. This great event center has become a popular spot for weddings and other parties.

“The donation of the awning and installation is a fantastic benefit and illustrates the continued support of our community by Holiday Valley and the Rotary Club,” said Town Supervisor Matt McAndrew.

With the donation from Holiday Valley covering the entire patio area will enhance the overall experience for anyone using this venue. The installation of the structure was donated by the Ellicottville Rotary Club.

According to Greg Cappelli, the Rotary Club had investigated purchasing such an awning, but the cost was prohibitive due to the size required. As luck would have it, the club spoke to Bonnie Kochir about the awning that had been used at the Hearth during the renovation of the Cabana Bar. Kochir worked with management and, through their generous support, the awning was installed.

“The retractable awning is a welcomed addition to the patio area,” McAndrew said. “The town appreciates the donation of the awning and installation. The project is a great example of the continued support of our community by Holiday Valley and the Rotary Club.”
