SALAMANCA — First-half goals by Mandy Hurlburt (assist) and Jocelyn Wyatt lifted Ellicottville over Salamanca, 2-1, Friday in CCAA East division girls soccer.
The Eagles got nine saves from Brooke Eddy in improving to 6-7.
Ryleigh John scored, assisted by Hayli Wilson, and Alexis Palmeri and Holly McGonigle had nine saves each for Salamanca (4-10).
“It was a very physical game,” Warriors coach Michelle Hill said. “Both teams play an aggressive style of soccer, and we had a very sloppy field. Unfortunately, our field doesn’t drain real well. There was a lot of slipping and sliding. We like to play a possession game, and it was tough to do that on the field … but obviously both teams had to deal with the conditions.”

ELLICOTTVILLE — Gabby Milligan scored the second of her goals with 7:26 remaining in the first overtime period to lift Franklinville (5-7) Wednesday, Oct. 3.
Emilee Ruiz tallied from Megan Stuve for Ellicottville.
Abby Burrell had 11 saves for the Panthers and Brooke Eddy two for the Eagles.
