Allegany State Park to Celebrate Smokey Bear’s 70th Birthday

Looking for a fun and free family evening? On Friday nights throughout the summer, July 18 –  Aug. 30 — Allegany State Park will be showing family movies at the Quaker Amphitheater. Bring the family, a blanket or chair and watch a movie outside on a big screen … FREE! Movies begin once it is dark and are cancelled in the event of rain.

Be sure to come to Smokey the Bear’s birthday bash on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the amphitheater. He’s turning 70 and would love to celebrate with all of you. Tickets cost $10 and include food, entertainment, kids’ activities and the possibility of winning cash prizes at the drawings at 9 p.m. that evening.

If you’re coming, load up your car with cat and dog supplies for local shelters. They are always in short supply and really appreciate your help.

Smokey’s birthday party is a fundraiser for the amphitheater’s projector and speaker system that helps make all the sing-alongs, movies and other events more enjoyable.

Smokey’s Birthday Bash tickets can be purchased throughout the summer at any of Sally Marsh’s Thursday hootenannies at the Quaker Amphitheater. Send donations to: Sally Marsh, 88 Jamestown St., Randolph, NY 14772.
