As the summer heats up, why not take advantage of the great weather and enjoy an evening outdoors, listening to some great free music? That’s exactly what you can do over the course of six weeks, with seven bands in Ellicottville, as part of the annual Gazebo Series, sponsored by CCSE Federal Credit Union.

The series kicks off Friday afternoon, July 1 with Acoustified Duo in the gazebo from 1 to 4 p.m. Acoustified Duo is Connie and Jerry Wendling, two voices and one guitar as they play songs ranging from 1980s rock to American folk rock. This is going to be a great way to kick start the Ellicottville Summer Music Festival.

The following day, in the very same place, from 1 to 4 p.m., Generations will take the gazebo to entertain with rock and roll. These guys did an incredible job last year. A true crowd favorite, they entertain young and old.

The rest of the series moves to Thursday nights from 7 to 9 p.m., starting July 7 with Canada’s “sassy modern vaudeville, roots and ragtime” band, My Sweet Patootie. According to their website, this band brings some of the best ragtime and roots music, mixed with the comedy of the Vaudevillian performances of old. They have toured extensively, making quite a name for themselves. This is an act you will not want to miss!

The gazebo will be filled with Old Hippies on July 14. You’ll be greatly entertained with the music that these ones will produce. These guys will be playing acoustic versions of recognizable tunes from across the spectrum, going back to the 1950s and coming through the 1970s. It should be a good trip through time with Old Hippies.

On July 21, come to the gazebo and feel like you are at the beach, listening to the Trop Rock, think Jimmy Buffet, sounds of Pirate Dreams. The band from Angola plays the tunes you need to get your mind thinking of the salt life.

Judd Sunshine brings his huge repertoire to the gazebo July 28. Judd has been entertaining audiences of all ages with his blend of music from the 1940s, all the way to today’s hits. While he tickles the ivories and sings the hits, you are bound to hear your favorites from a variety of styles, including jazz standards, classic rock, blues, country and bluegrass.

The season closes out on August 4 with Buffalo-based Celtic and World Music artists, Stone Row. If you are looking for a good blend of music from around the world, all with a contemporary edge, Stone Row is going to be a show you are not going to want to miss. According to the band’s website, “Stone Row creates their unique alchemy by featuring visionary musical interpretations as well as unparalleled original material.”

Come to one or all of these free concerts and enjoy a warm summer evening with friends old and new at the gazebo!
