P1010573Do you like to draw pictures or cartoons? Do you like games, crosswords and puzzles? Do you like to write stories? Do you like to do book and movie reviews? Do you like photography? Are you between 10 and 15 years old?

If you answered yes to any or all of these, then we have a NEW club starting on Monday, Feb. 24 at the Ellicottville Memorial Library that’s just right for you!

We will meet every other Monday from 3:15–5 p.m. at the library, and explore our imagination and talents in these areas and create an exciting Kid’s Corner in the Ellicottville Times newspaper. Your puzzles, photos, stories and cartoons could be in the newspaper to be shared and enjoyed by other young readers.

Funded by the Rotary Club of Ellicottville, Foundation for Youth, the Ellicottville Young Writers & Illustrators Club is collaborating with Ellicottville Memorial Library and the Ellicottville Times newspaper. Tim & Bonnie’s and Katy’s Café have volunteered to supply pizza and cookies for the children. We welcome more supporters for our club.

Ellicottville Central School will kindly provide bus transportation for students of ECS for the alternate Mondays from the school to the library.

The group will be led by Katie Benatovich, a local children’s book author. She welcomes any adults and high school students who have skills and interest in helping with the club. It would look great on a college resume!

Please contact either Laura Flanagan at the library at (716) 699-2842 or Katie Benatovich directly at (716) 341-1483 for more information.
