Alumni Banquet, All-Class Reunion July 18

It’s that time of year again when graduates of Ellicottville Central School gather to catch up with old friends and enjoy an evening of conversation and reminiscing.

Friday evening, July 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the ECS Alumni Banquet and All-Class Reunion will take place at the Tannenbaum Lodge in Holiday Valley. The evening will begin with a social hour, with a buffet dinner being served at 7 p.m. Details and a reservation form can be found on the ECS website,, click on “alumni.” Please send reservations to Ellicottville Alumni Association, P.O. Box 1033, Ellicottville, NY 14731. All ECS former students and graduates (and their guest) are invited to attend.

One of the highlights of the evening will be the presentation of a commemorative plaque to two of this year’s graduates chosen to receive the annual Alumni Award. This year, thanks to the generous pledge of the class of 1963, we have been able to increase the award to $1,000 for each of the winners. The recipients, along with their parents, will be special guests of the Alumni Association.

Special recognition will also be given to members of the 5-year Honor Classes in attendance. A photographer will be present to record those classes, as well as candid shots to be included on the alumni web page for next year. There will be displays of class memorabilia, pictures and yearbooks to browse through before dinner.

This year’s gathering is again a two-day affair with brunch Saturday, July at the United Church of Ellicottville starting at 9 a.m., another great chance to renew friendships and trade memories. Also on Saturday after the brunch, Mark Ward has offered to have the school open for tours for anyone interested
