The Ellicottville Eagles Midget Football team is headed to the Cattaraugus County Midget Football League “A” Super Bowl.

In a 25-16 defeat of the Salamanca Sabers during round two of the playoffs, the Eagles front seven, led by Harrison Newark, worked hard to move the ball every play against a much bigger defensive line.

Touchdowns were scored by Clayton Rowland, who was unstoppable by the Sabers defense, recording two touchdowns, an outside sweep ran in by Leif Jimerson, followed up by a long distance connection between Logan Grinols and Caleb Dubel.

“Our team played a great game versus a very good opponent. We will be ready to go Saturday,” said head coach Tim Grinols.

The Eagles will face the Franklinville Panthers at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
