Eastern Freestyle Championships Day 3

The final day of Eastern Champs had Junior athletes competing on Fox Fire Aerial Site, while the Young Guns were sloping it up on Snoozer. At the end of the day, athletes were also recognized for Overall Combined in age group, as well as Overall Combined Event Champion. There were also awards for Overall Region as well as Team award.

Junior Aerials 

A tricky day on the Fox Fire Aerial site had our athletes jumping for joy at times.

FLITE Team had 4 females competing, with 3 finishing in the Top 10. Lexi Crotty led the way with a 5th place overall finish, followed by Elissa Cole in 6th. Alliy Hansen finished in 9th place overall; while Hayleigh Holland jumped to a 16th place overall finish.

In the high flying male side, Parker Johnston and Griffen Hansen landed in the Top 10, with Parker 8th overall. Griffen finished 10th overall, while Lucas Goodin finished 12th overall. Sean Ryan 15th overall, Jake Wayland 25th, Mitch Wayland 26th overall, Michael Kennedy 28th overall, Jared Smolinski 31st overall, Jack Rath 34th overall.

Jack Rath, Sean Ryan, Jake Wayland, Mitch Wayland and Michael Kennedy made their first appearance at Eastern Championships and all had very successful days!

Young Guns Slopestyle

Both Evan Dermott and Brandon Crotty had personal best days in the park as Dermott secured 3rd place with a red hot run!

In the seedings for the Top 10, there were 3 pairs of athletes with tie scores, using the tie breaker to determine ranking for 1st, 9th and 10th. When all the snow settled, Dermott was in 3rd place, only 1.3 points off the top spot. Brandon Crotty finished in 11th, after the tie breaker knocked him from 10th place.

Overall Combined

The Overall combined award is awarded to the Top 3 males and females with the highest scores from the 3 disciplines; Slopestyle, Aerials and Moguls. At Eastern Champs, those awards are broken down into age groups, as well as Overall Top Male and Female.

HoliMont FLITE Team is home to the Eastern Freestyle Young Gun Male Combined Champion Evan Dermott, as well as the Eastern Freestyle Female Combined Champion Lexi Crotty.

HoliMont FLITE Team is part of the Eastern Freestyle- Western Region; which won the overall region award for most points by the Region. The FLITE Team was in the running for the Overall Team Award, which is a tabulation of accumulated points based on podium appearances by a team. HoliMont FLITE Team and Waterville Valley Ski Academy from New Hampshire were close all weekend, but in the end, FLITE Team finished in 2nd place, a shade off the winner Waterville Valley Academy.
