Regional artists, artisans and authors will be exhibiting and selling their work at the 66th annual Art in the Park on Sunday, July 26 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. presented by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council (CCAC) on the North Union Street campus of Jamestown Community College (JCC) simultaneously with Taste of Olean. There is something for everyone at Art in the Park: visitors can tour the various tent galleries, talk to the artists about their work, and purchase pieces while children can get their face painted or do a small art project. And then you can get something to eat at Taste of Olean!

A new exhibitor at Art in the Park this year is the Art Mobile from the The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University. The Art Mobile provides an outdoor gallery featuring recreations of many of the Quick Center’s most popular paintings so the gallery can go “on tour” anywhere. Visitors can walk through the outdoor space to view some of the museum’s permanent collection or learn about artists and art movements they may have never experienced before. The Art Mobile will also provide an art activity for Art in the Park visitors. Using Henri Matisse’s famous paper cut out compositions as inspiration, visitors will use watercolor tissue paper and pre-constructed shapes to construct colorful abstract imagery.

In all of the other booths at Art in the Park you can meet regional artists, view their original works and purchase a one-of-a-kind treasure for your home at this one-day juried outdoor art exhibition.
