It’s almost here! The Ellicottville Christmas Cantata, that is.

This group of 40 singers from the Salamanca, Ellicottville, Great Valley and Machias communities has been rehearsing every Sunday since Oct. 25 to bring the joy of beautiful choral music to our community this Christmas Season.

This year’s Cantata is “A Noel Celebration” by Lloyd Larson. The choir, directed by Annette Ieda, will give two performances on Sunday, Dec. 13 – the first at 3 p.m. at Salamanca’s United Congregational/Methodist Church at 134 Broad Street, and again at 7 p.m. at the Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church at 22 Jefferson Street in Ellicottville.

A reception will follow each concert and a free-will offering will be taken to cover the cost of the music and provide a donation to the Community Food Pantry housed at the United Church of Ellicottville.

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to hear the Christmas story through narration and song? Come join in the celebration of our savior’s birth by supporting this amazing event.
