Who doesn’t love classic cars, food and fun? Stop into Emerling Ford on Saturday, July 12 and celebrate 50 years of Mustangs!

“Come out July 12 to take a look at history!” encouraged Todd Jones, of Emerling Ford, who is organizing the event.

The Ford Mustang came onto the scene on April 17, 1964. It quickly became a hot car to own, and over the next several decades, many Mustang models continued to hit the streets. Today, it has become an iconic car.

Ford celebrated the Mustang’s 50-year anniversary by putting the 2015 Mustang on display on the observation deck of the Empire State Building.

While the Enchanted Mountains region doesn’t have a building quite as tall and famous, the region is doing its part to pay tribute to this American classic.

Emerling Ford, located at 150 S. Cascade Drive (Route 219) in Springville, is hosting its special Mustang event to bring together locals who enjoy a good, old-fashioned car show — featuring Mustangs only! The event is open to the public, and guests will enjoy free hot dogs, burgers and pop while they check out some super rad cars that span the last half century.

Cars will be on display in the Emerling Ford parking lot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

After the car show portion of the event, the real fun begins! A Mustang parade leads the crew over the hills and to the Holland Motorsports Complex, where drivers can take their sweet ride for a lap around the racetrack. (Of course, a helmet is required.) Entry fee is $10 per vehicle, and spectators can get in on the action for $10, too.

“I’m friends with the owner of the speedway, so we decided to combine the Mustang event with something there,” explained Jones.

Pre-registration for the event is required for anyone bringing a Mustang and is limited to 100 drivers.

Get in on a rip-roarin’ good time and be a part of American car history! For more information, contact Todd Jones at (716) 592-4949, ext.117.
