Cirque de Bière Pairs Craft Brews with Interesting Foods

Don’t miss this weekend of merry making enhanced by quality handcrafted brews and regional wines, as well as cider tastings and gourmet food pairings as the annual Beer and Wine Festival and Brew Master’s Dinner take over the Holiday Valley Lodge on Nov. 7–8.

The weekend kicks off with the Friday, Nov. 7 Brew Master’s Dinner with a Cirque de Bière them. The evening will feature combinations of nationally recognized craft beers paired with seasonally focused cuisine. The brewers will be on hand to discuss each beer with you and explain the pairing decisions. Chefs will create locally sourced dishes you’re sure to love, especially if you are adventurous and enjoy tasting interesting foods.

Jane Eshbaugh, Holiday Valley’s marketing director, said, “Almost everything on the menu has beer as an ingredient, even the dessert.”

Unusual dishes featuring wild game and venison are presented at food stations, including wild game sausages finished with blueberries, potato pancakes, autumn chowder and beer floats.

And get ready for some surprises, hinted Eshbaugh.

“The ‘god of beer’ will perform a traditional tapping of the keg just as the diners enter the dining room. The ‘ringleader’ will introduce each station and entertain the diners through the evening,” she said.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, head back to the Lodge for the Beer and Wine Festival running 3:30–7:30 p.m. The festival is hosted by Holiday Valley, Ellicottville Brewing Company and Southern Tier Brewery.

Tickets for Saturday’s Beer and Wine Festival are $50 pre-sale (through Oct. 31), and $60 starting Nov. 1. Ticket includes a commemorative tasting glass, unlimited 3 oz. samples of wine, beer and hard cider, and a $5 food voucher.
