From top to bottom, inside to outside, and everything in between, the 2015 Greater Olean Home Show has you covered. More than 80 of the area’s most respected businesses are preparing to exhibit their products and services to help you with almost any home improvement project you can imagine.

“It’s a one-stop shopping center for all your home improvement needs,” said Meme Yanetsko, GOACC chief operating officer. “The annual Home Show is brimming with practical ideas, real solutions and a host of applicable ideas to take home. Showgoers can talk to a number of area experts and learn about construction, decorating trends, accessories, cabinets, appliances and more — all in one place.”

Looking for landscape inspiration, DIY projects, how-to-do demonstrations, decorating ideas, home improvement help? Experts and professionals will be available and happy to help you. Each day of the show features handy demos and seminars. Daily topics include everything from deck staining, flower arranging, and color schemes to decorating with photo frames and building a hanging daybed. And, the annual Water Tasting Test will return on Saturday.

According to Yanetsko, “The Home Show committee is introducing a theme to each night of the show.”

Each day of the three-day Home Show will feature fun events. At the Friday night Wine/Brew Walk, those over 21 can enjoy a fun wine and beer tasting from some of the finest New York state wineries, as well as Olean’s newest brewery, Four Mile Brewing Company. You’ll receive three free tasting tickets with your admission ticket; additional tasting tickets will be available for purchase.

On Saturday, handymen and women are invited to participate in the Handyman Contest. Four finalists will be chosen from the pool of registered people, who will prove they’re the best by conquering three fix-it challenges.

“The finalist with the quickest time will be named Olean’s Best Handyman and will be awarded with Home Depot gift cards,” said Yanetsko.

To register for the Handyman Contest, visit or come to WMXO Studios at 231 North Union St. in Olean to fill out an entry form. Rules and restrictions apply.

Need more reasons to attend?

“Displays will include patios, window replacement, siding, heating and air conditioning, pools, spas, furniture, computer technology and much more,” said Yanetsko. “Also, representatives from local banks, homebuilders and insurance companies will be on hand to meet showgoers.”

Have you ever seen a camp-style home? Well, you can at the Home Show where Owl Homes of Allegany will have their Park model home set up for touring. In addition, Shults of Bradford will be displaying their 2015 Toyota line of cars, including the Avalon, Prius, Corolla and Camry.

Plus, you will be eligible to win the show’s grand prize, a five-burner Brinkman grill; second prize, a 55-gallon drum charcoal grill from Brinkman; or third prize, a Rubbermaid deck storage bench — all donated by Home Depot of Olean.
