The days are getting shorter, the fall foliage is past its peak and with nighttime temperatures dipping into the 30s, it’s time to face the fact that summer, even the Indian kind, is pretty much over.

This is great news if you’re a snowsports enthusiast. For everyone else, it means the onset of the flu season, some bad eating habits and a general malaise due to the perpetual darkness and a lack of mood lifting outdoor fun and exercise. Don’t despair. There’s a ray of sunshine in those concrete November skies and it’s about to shed some healthful light on Ellicottville.

Plan to be at the Holiday Valley Lodge at Holiday Valley on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, from 9–5 p.m., when Nature’s Sunshine Products and Ellicottville’s own Nature’s Remedy Wellness Center present NSP’s Natural Health Education Series 2013.

Here is your opportunity to learn how to improve your health and general outlook on life naturally. This one-day event will feature short, natural health seminars on a wide range of topics including herbal first aid, weight loss, flower essences and emotional health, essential oils, children’s health and colon cleansing.

Don’t expect to just sit there with your hands in your lap and listen. NSP’s Natural Health Education Series uses a hands-on approach to teaching. You’ll be able to touch smell, taste and practice what you’re learning.

The instructor for this series is Julie Devisser, a Naturopath from Colorado, who has been speaking and encouraging audiences around the U.S. for over 20 years. Devisser is one of those special people with a real passion for life and a talent for motivating others to grow and improve themselves by embracing life to its fullest. She believes that our bodies are a precious gift that must be properly cared for and maintained. She teaches that “we are responsible for our own bodies, our own minds, our own paths.”

Gretchen Mendell and the gracious green goddesses from Nature’s Remedy, along with Julie Devisser and Nature’s Sunshine Products, are hoping you will join them for a day packed full of life changing information to help launch and guide you on your journey to better health. They want to remind each of us that today is the first day of the rest of our lives and not to waste a single one.
