Gowanda — Gowanda Hollywood Theater is proud to announce the 16th annual Gowanda Hollywood Happening, May 30 through June 1, 2014.
“This year’s show is expected to be the best yet,” said Dr. Dana Anderson, M.D., chairman of the Hollywood Happening committee. “We are featuring an incredible lineup of live music, entertainment, vendors, giveaways and more.”
One staple of the Hollywood Happening, year after year, is the Harley-Davidson motorcycle giveaway.
“We are excited to partner, once again, with our friends from Gowanda Harley-Davidson to give away a 2014 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Custom,” Anderson said.
The motorcycle is given away Sunday with a guaranteed winner. Tickets can be purchased at the event, as well as through committee members all month long.
The event kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. with a hometown showcase music series, followed by Western New York’s Largest Bike Parade leaving Gowanda Harley-Davidson at 6:30 p.m.
New family-friendly events this year is the Eastern Action Sports team. This BMX bike show offers extreme stunts and tricks, and The Magical John Show, great entertainment for everyone.
This event features dozens of vendors, food options and giveaways, including free motorcycle tires daily from Dunlop, a proud supporter of the Happening.
“Plus, new this year, we have teamed up with our friends from Kix Country (96.5 FM and 100.3FM) and Willow Creek Winery to present the Western New York’s Largest Wine Giveaway ever,” said Tim McKeever, marketing consultant to the Happening. “We wanted to give every adult attendee at this year’s Happening the ultimate experience, and so we reached out to our friends at Kix, and they came right on board with us to give away over 50 bottles of wine all weekend long. Plus, we are giving away motorcycle tires, event prizes and much more. All you have to do is come buy tickets for just $5 each for your chance to win. This year’s event is all about energy and having a good time.”
The Hollywood Happening will also feature a newly expanded Certo Brothers Beer Garden for this year’s music series.
“The 2014 Wolf’s Run main act is Wanted, The Bon Jovi Tribute Band,” reported Delaney Peters, marketing manager for Gowanda Harley-Davidson and Happening advertising director. “If it’s one thing the Happening is known for, it’s great music, and we have expanded the garden in anticipation of record crowds for this free event.”
This year’s entertainment includes a variety of performers. A detailed schedule can be found at www.GowandaHollywoodHappening.com.
All bands are free to watch, all weekend long. Family seating is available. Must be 21 or over to be inside the beer garden. Security will be on hand and ID is required to enter the beer garden.
The Hollywood Happening will once again feature the AMVET’s Hollywood Theater Charity Run, the Ms. Hollywood Happening Contest (on Facebook), a Ride-In Bike Show, the Wicked Glen tattoo contest and more.
“If you have never been to the Happening before, we want to encourage you, your friends and family to pick a day to come out and enjoy the festival. We literally shut down Main Street so you can check out thousands of bikes, visit our shops, many whom are featuring extended store hours and sales, enjoy the shows, take as tour of the theater, and see all that Gowanda and the Happening has to offer,” said Mark Burr, president of the Historic Gowanda Hollywood Theater board.
Camping is available, and a complete lineup of the 16th annual Hollywood Happening is online at www.GowandaHollywoodHappening.com.
Gowanda Hollywood Happening is presented in large part by Gernatt’s Family of Companies, Wolf’s Run, Gowanda Harley-Davidson and Native Pride. Western New York’s largest three-day motorcycle festival is a fundraiser to benefit the $4.5 million dollar restoration project of the Historic Gowanda Hollywood Theater, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
